Nína Óskarsdóttir (b. 1986) a visual artist living and working in Reykjavík, Iceland.
My art explores close, personal environments and reflects on how our identity portrays who we are. My work is inspired by social conditions and I often use myself and my personal life and experience as a starting off point.
I like to challenge cultural customs and norms with humor and vulnerability. Through my work I question identity, religion, separation between masculinity and femininity, inequality between genders and social classes, democracy and humankind’s rule over nature.
