Nína Óskarsdóttir (b. 1986) a visual artist living and working in Reykjavík, Iceland.
My art explores close, personal environments and questions how identity portrays who we are. My work deals with social situations and I often use myself and my personal life as an example. I like to challenge cultural customs and norms with humor and vulnerability. I question gender identity, religion, separation between masculinity and femininity, speciesism, inequality between genders, races and social classes, democracy and humankind’s rule over nature.
